On Friday night of KnockanStockan 2013 John Blek & The Rats played the Shack of Diamonds stage under the twinkling stars of Blessington countryside. The six-piece country and folk group filled the warm summer night with sweet and soulful music that reminisced the 1950’s. The Shack of Diamonds being a more intimate stage away from the other louder stages meant that the band really connected with their audience sitting on the grass in front of them.

John Blek & The Rats were a welcomed change to the mostly rock lineup of KnockanStockan so far and within a minute of playing had a dozen couples up at the front of the stage dancing to their sweet country tunes and harmonies. All in all John Blek and The Rats played a great and very well received set that stole moments away from the hustle and bustle of KnockanStockan festival and left their audience in a mellow and happy mood.
